Tips for the Very Busy Muslimah to Make the Most Out of Ramadan – Ramadan 2020 Day 4

Home / 30 Ramadan Posts / Tips for the Very Busy Muslimah to Make the Most Out of Ramadan – Ramadan 2020 Day 4

There was a time as a student and then later in my earlier days of mommy-ing, I used to feel dejected at not being able to do ALOT in terms of ibadah and reciting the Qur’an. With that mindset I used to come out of Ramadan feeling very disappointed for not having done enough.

Then I came across the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ said, “The most beloved of deeds to Allah are those that are most consistent, even if it is small”. [Collected by Bukhari and Muslim]

This changed my whole mindset and made me look at Ramadan in a whole new light.

So last Ramadan I sat down and made a list of all the tiny little things I could do consistently and score in more points.

Besides recently I have learnt is if you set your mind on just a little teeny piece of task, you can actually end up accomplishing much more. So its all about fooling your mind too. Amazing how that works.

Anyhow without further ado, here’s a list of things you can do daily while on the go or running after little ones and still score some reward points inshaAllah ♡

1. Recite your daily adhkar. Morning, evening and night. If you don’t have the time to sit down and read from a book, play on your phone and listen while you travel to work, university or even when working around the house.

2. Recite the Qur’an daily and make the time to reflect on it even if it’s just few ayaat. Make a Qur’an buddy for accountability.

3. Say بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم before everything you do.

4. Do everything for the sake of Allah. This means you expect the rewards of it from no one except Allah inshaAllah.

5. Try to adopt sunnah way of doing things. Sit while you drink water, start wearing clothes and shoes from right side, start using the miswak, etc.

6. Start memorizing the supplications from hadith and sunnah. Eg dua when it rains or thunders, dua for leaving and entering home, dua for entering and leaving toilet, etc.

7. Be the first to say salaams. To your parents, siblings, spouse, children or whoever you meet during your way to work, uni, etc. Great the other person with a smile.

8. Pray together.

9. Give charity, make sadaqah. It’s not how much you give but the quality of what you give.

10. Wake up a few minutes before having sujood and pray tahhajud

11. Pray Salat up Duha. Its voluntary prayer prayed between Fajr and Duhur and it’s benefits and rewards are many

12. Always try to remain in wudu.

13. Keep your tongue most in dhikr all the time. Some dhikr you can do:
• La illaha illallah
• Allahu Akbar
• SubhanAllah Alhamdulillah
• Astaghfirullah wa atubu plain
• Send salawat on the Prophet ﷺ

These were some of my tips to help you keep on top of your game despite being a busy student and/or a mom.

I pray we are fully able to reap the benefits of this blessed month and come out more better than we have been ever before. Ameen
