Ramadan Day 21 – MAKE THIS RAMADAN A LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE FOR YOU

“The month of Ramadan (is the month) in which the Qur’an has been sent down as guidance for mankind containing clear signs which lead (to the straight road) and distinguishing (the truth from falsehood)..” (Q 2:185)

Ramadan is a holy month. As Muslims, we all should pray more, do more dhikr, perform Sunnah prayer. Do more and more good deeds.

I have seen some people who keep fast but watch TV, sleep all day, listen to music, or lie on the bed and waste their time on the internet. I’m not saying all Muslims do this but there is at least 10 per cent may be more who do these sinful acts during Ramadan. Wake up O’ Muslimah don’t waste your time. We don’t know whether we will get another Ramadan or not.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When Ramadan enters, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed and the devils are chained.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim).

Keep this hadith in mind. People say it’s because of Satan we do bad deeds but what about Ramadan; some people watch TV in Ramadan when devils are chained. You’re not doing it because of Satan or shaytan you’re doing it because you are ignorant. Don’t blame Satan for everything.

Try to change yourself, your habits. Try to be better Muslims. Try to eliminate TV, Music from your life. Because watching TV and listening to music gives rise to bad temptations. I know it’s not easy but smallest step can make a bigger change. Religion is not a distraction entertainment is the distraction.

I heard in one of the lectures of Shaikh Bilal Assad, people ask him why is everything is haram in Islam? He said, “The laws are there to protect us from harm. They’re not there to cause harm or restrict you.” Everything is not haram in Islam Muslims started to like what is prohibited in Islam.

Make this Ramadan a life-changing experience for you. Try to eliminate TV and music from your life after Ramadan also. People say that we don’t have time, why will you have time when you’re busy watching TV. Instead of watching TV, read Islamic history, read the Seerah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad saw. Some people find music a stress free thing but my dear brothers and sisters listen or read Qur’an and you’ll find comfort in it. Listening to Qur’an will relieve your stress.

May Allah SWT make us better Muslims.
