A blog about a mother’s journey throughout homeschooling, reviewing children’s books, and providing parenting tips. A Ducktrinor Mom is a mother who follows a madhab (an Islamic doctrine) to teach the deen to her son. Which madhab? Take a guess ;). Why? Because all the doctrines are somewhat related and the differences between them are relatively small.

Being Muslim Woman
I’m a 26 year old from India fighting to break out of culture stigmas forced down upon Muslim women. I have done my Engineering and currently pursuing a career in Digital Marketing since this career option keeps me close to my family and I would like to help muslim women make an online presence to make their dreams come true.

My name is Kulsum, I’m a 20 something Muslim mom blogger with a mission that seems quite daunting. I want to be able to balance not only the work-life aspect that everyone talks about, but also add in the Islamic element too.

I’m a mother to a toddler and the next one coming soon in sha Allah. I have always loved kids because I feel they are the most truthful and honest humans. I live in Bangalore and work as a Digital Marketer in a travel company, parallel to running this space for a Muslim mom blogger.

All my life I have seen Muslim women face barriers in life that it hinders them from living their dreams. Maybe she wanted to be a designer or a businesswoman or a chef. But she got caught in the web of culture and family who never gave wings to her dreams. It’s not fair that although Islam has raised the status of the women, society and culture get in your way.

This drove me to make a career change and get into something I am passionate about and be the change I want to see.
I have an Engineering degree and worked for about two years in an upscale IT company. Although, really it was not my cup of tea since it kept me away from my family for the whole day. Thus after much anticipation, I decided to quit the Corporate life and explore my options. That was a very difficult and courageous decision I had to take and I pride myself in it. It took me a lot of time to figure out what I really wanted to do with life.
Although I knew 3 things for sure:

1. It had to be something related to Islam.
2. Something that kept me close to my family.
3. To help Muslim women break out of their shells.

A lot of research finally landed me the idea of being a digital marketer and Alhumdullilah it checks all my three requirements, right now I’m on a learning curve on building an online presence, brand development, business exposure on social media, website development, Ad placement and so much more.

The job is work from home solely, flexible Alhumdullilah and with my skills honed I hope to someday help Muslim women expand their dreams online. It might be a small part but it surely will give me a lot of satisfaction to see a happy Muslim mom/woman. Along with this, I would like to sprinkle a little bit of basic Islam into your daily life to strengthen yours as well as your family’s Imaan, because let’s face it, you’re the captain of the ship and that’s the most important element.

So join me as I do a work-life-deen balance and still have time to take care of myself.

Assalamu alaykum. My name is Katie Quirk and I’m an Australian revert Muslim. I write blog topics that help others in understanding the fundamentals of Islam. This is a new blog that I started (last week actually). I aim to make Islam simpler for both the muslim and non muslim communities. Casual styled blog, with engaging topics separated into categories for organized reading !

Since I am new to the whole experience, I am sticking to a fairly basic design. But I aim to help young muslims (and non muslims) understand Islam better, which is why I have a section called ” An aayat a day”, where I take an aayah of the Quran and explain it – not the same as tafsir, but I try my best. I also have a section called “Thunder thoughts’ – basically just quotes I like, and why I like them. The last addition to my blog is “Story of the Day” which is usually a current event, or something cool, going around the world. Hoping to make a difference in the world, day by day, little by little, Inshallah !

Rand4design: Inspiration, Creation, Reflection
My new creative outlet: reflecting on my journey through psychology, motherhood, spirituality, and art.

A large portion of my life, almost 10 years, has been spent studying and teaching Psychology. During that period, I became a wife and a mother to three wonderful kids. Those years allowed me to reflect on where my life was headed and what I really wanted to do. Art and design have always been inspirational to me. Hence, I have officially enrolled back in school for my degree in interior design. I am currently a student at the New York Institute of Art and Design. This blog is my new creative outlet; welcome to my current world of inspiration, creation and reflection. My hope is to spread inspiration and motivation for others and myself as I journey on this new adventure.

The Convert Connection
Posts emphasize the necessity of joining or creating a face-to-face community in order to maintain and increase faith.

Converts in America (and other Western countries) often drift away from Islam because they have difficulty integrating the pillars (such as praying and fasting) into a Western lifestyle which includes working, taking care of children, and nurturing social relationships. This blog offers ideas for establishing an actual, personal community (in addition to on-line contacts) as a means to developing as a Muslim.

Assalamu alaykum Wa rahmatullahi Wa barakatuhu.

There’s not a particular goal for my blog at this moment in time. It’s quite literally a creative outlet for my scattered thoughts. I’m not a writer or a poet. But I guess I hover on the sidelines of both. When I work it all out of course I’ll be letting everyone know! In the meantime I’d like to find other like-minded bloggers whilst I learn and grow.

I hope that by documenting my introspective journey it can be of some benefit to others, whatever little that may.
